Florida's Natural Springs are a Freshwater Paradise

We are so lucky to live in North Florida, where we are surrounded by freshwater springs. Now, in the heat of the summer, is the best time to go enjoy swimming, boating, canoeing, kayaking, snorkeling, diving and tubing in the 70 degree waters.

Because of the temperate waters year-round, springs are areas of great biodiversity. You'll see all kinds of fish, reptiles, amphibians, birds, mammals and plant life. Certain times of year, you might even see manatee.

There are 40 springs throughout the state. Find them on this state map and plan a trip today! The ones closest to Gainesville are Ginnie Springs, Blue Grotto, Devil's Den, Blue Springs, Poe Springs, River Rise and Ichetucknee.
